Hi Im Jackie... I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer during covid so did everything on my own Chemo, hospital stays over New Year were spent on my own, a double mastectomy and radiotherapy all by myself. My amazing wife and very supportive family, especially my sister, who even stayed at the house to help get us through but I found FB pages with people going though the same as you really helped

In 2021 I Joined the Maggie’s on the Runway family and after doing the underwear catwalk I regained my confidence and found friends also dealing with cancer,  many I’m still in touch with today !

In 2022 I Found a rash on my chest, not a normal sign of SBC so was told not to worry but they would do a biopsy anyway.... I was then told I had Secondary Breast Cancer. It was in the blood vessels on my chest. I was 33,  with my boys being so young I asked the question... How long?  ‘2 years’ !   That isn't long enough!!  A friend also with SBC recommended make2ndscount and the support groups have been invaluable.

I am so looking forward to raising awareness of secondary breast cancer and hopefully being a positive story for newly diagnosed ladies and gents that we can still live full lives making many memories.... which leads me to raising money for research in to these treatments to extend the 2 years I was given (but I don't intend to listen to statistics)

I am proud to wear our bee ...HOPE and I can't wait to get going with the BooBee 2024 Campaign to get our stories out there and get buzzing about this new bee on the block.
