BooBee's Big Campaign 2022

After the huge success of BooBee’s 2019 campaign, Queen BooBee took centre stage in November 2022 to showcase the ground-breaking work taking place here in Manchester to tackle breast cancer.

2022’s BooBee campaign was designed to reach more women than ever, encouraging them to be aware of the vital need for better breast health and education.

The pandemic has had a devastating effect on cancer services. It has been widely reported that in 2020, an estimated 11,000 breast cancers have gone undiagnosed in the UK. (Source Breast Cancer Now) so 2022’s campaign was even more critical in the fight against this terrible disease that impacts too many women.

BooBee is the vision of cancer charity campaigner, Margo Cornish who is working alongside Prevent Breast Cancer – the only UK breast cancer charity funding ground-breaking research solely aimed at preventing the disease for future generations.

Commenting on the reason this campaign is so important, Margo Cornish explains –
“It’s a stark reality that every year in the UK over 55,900 individuals are diagnosed with breast cancer – each year we lose around 11,500 people to this devastating disease. I have seen many of my dear friends directly affected by breast cancer, and it’s for this reason, I was inspired to launch BooBee in partnership with Prevent Breast Cancer.

Through BooBee, we aim to equip people with the knowledge they need to understand the different risk factors, as well as the symptoms of breast cancer.

The ancient name for Manchester is "Mamucium" derived from the Roman word for breast shaped hill. So where better to have the home of our BooBee movement, than here in the great city of Manchester?”
