Laura’s Story
We were going on our first holiday as a family together. It was beautiful with gorgeous weather which meant lots of suncream being applied. Even though I was putting on extra cream all day every day, it still wasn’t me who noticed the lump. My partner pointed it out to me, but I felt like it came and went - some days it was really prominent, then others like it has disappeared and I could hardly find it. Even though I have a family history of breast cancer I really wasn’t concerned, however made the appointment when I came back and within 4 weeks of returning from holiday was diagnosed with breast cancer, which at just 36 was a massive shock. Luckily for me it was caught early, and that was 8 years ago this year.
